Bitter roots // 14-06-18

“Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.” Hebrews‬ ‭12:15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It is so easy to nurture bitterness, to replay hurtful actions and words spoken and to stoke the fires of offence. So tempting to believe I have a right to feel and think those things and to stand in the role of judge and jury! But that is a surefire route to trouble, the fruit of that root is unresolved conflict, damaged relationships, division, separation and isolation. What we need more than anything in the fight for community and unity is grace, forgiveness and hearts that try to understand! Lord, help us to look out for each other, to deal with any weeds that are trying to undermine foundations and strangle out life. Thank You for the grace You have shown to me tho I have never deserved it, help me to be a carrier of Your grace and love, to model it, especially to those who need it the most. Amen 🙏🏼
