“The angel of the LORD came back a second time and touched him and said, ‘Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you.’” 1 Kings 19:7 NIV
This was to a man called Elijah, who had been running for his life, he had withdrawn into the wilderness and feeling scared, tired and depressed he told God that he had had enough! Do you ever feel like that? The truth is that this journey IS too much for all of us if we try and do it on our own! But God didn’t shout at Elijah, reprimanding him for his weakness, He fed him and He spoke in a gentle whisper, and He posed a question, ‘What are you doing here?’ and He reminded Elijah that he wasn’t on his own and there were others who would share the journey with him that he needed to go and connect with! So as we look towards the start of our new term this is my challenge to us: Get up and eat for this journey is too much for you! Connect with God, listen to His Word and connect with others, it is so much better and we are so much stronger when we walk this journey together 😊
