An idol is anything that we worship instead of God. It could be a person, a hobby, a job, my family, my phone, sport, music, religion, or even myself! What or who gets the best of my heart? What or who do I turn to first when tough times come or there is a reason to celebrate? Thanking God (choosing to turn to Him, recognising His presence and workmanship, remembering who He is and what He has done), breaks the power of idolatry in my life and builds a real faith in the One who counts the most! Jesus, I thank You for the good things in my life, for my family, my work and my church, but help me never to put them in place of You. Amen 🙌🏼🙏🏼💪🏼
