“When God spoke from Mount Sinai his voice shook the earth, but now he makes another promise: “Once again I will shake not only the earth but the heavens also.” This means that all of creation will be shaken and removed, so that only unshakable things will remain.” Hebrews 12:26-27 NLT.
There will be a final shaking when only what is eternal gets left, but until then we all experience the foreshock rumblings that act as warnings of what’s to come!
‘There’s a tremor in the earth, in the ground beneath my feet. There’s a miracle at work in the things I can’t yet see. I believe it.’ (Tremor: Joe Blake)
I wonder what tremors you are experiencing in your life right now? Where am I being shaken? God always uses these times to try and get our attention, alerts us to look up, turn to Him and trust Him! The danger is that we can get so fixated on the temporary that we lose sight of the eternal, but God wants to wake us up from that spiritual apathy! Lord, hard as it is to go through things that shake me up, help me to see them as opportunities to grow in faith and obedience as I hold on to You and as I look for the miracle of You at work in the midst of it all. Amen 🙏🏼🛡
