Drifting? // 02-03-20

“So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it.” Hebrews‬ ‭2:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

If you are in a boat and you stop paddling, you don’t stay still, you drift, and not in the direction which is safe! The underlying currents will drag you out to sea and away from the shore. Often you can’t feel yourself drifting until suddenly you realise how far you are from where you were! If we stop listening to the truth, if we don’t read or hear the Word of God, stop praying, and avoid fellowship then we don’t just stay at the level of faith we have reached, we drift! We become susceptible to the lies of the accuser taking us in the opposite direction to where called us to be and from the things He called us to do. This is a wake up call from God today to anyone who has stopped paddling, stopped fighting, running, obeying or even stopped believing! He says, ‘See how far you have drifted, tho it might seem calm on the surface you are in dangerous waters so set your sights on the shore, search for Jesus, pick up your oar and start paddling again!’ Let’s be looking out for each other and checking in on one another. If you need help and support, talk to someone you trust or message me, I’d love to pray for you 🚣🏽🙏🏼
