From anguish to praise // 08-04-20

“And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”” Matthew‬ ‭27:46‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

It is thought that as Jesus was hanging on the cross He was reciting Psalm 22, a Messianic prophecy entitled, A cry of anguish and a song of praise.’ Go read it in the Amplified version and be amazed at how it so accurately describes the experience of Jesus as He was being crucified, a form of execution that hadn’t even been invented when the Psalms were written! Check out how the Psalm ends! 😮 Sin might have the effect of separating us from God, but because of Jesus this all changes and our anguish can turn into praise too! Let’s not let the pain and the uncertainty of our current situation stop us from celebrating this Easter weekend! We have so much to be thankful for ✞= ♥
