Good boundaries // 08-10-20

“I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep…Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures.” John‬ ‭10:7-9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There is a common misconception that doing away with boundaries equates to real freedom, but that is just not the case. We see this in the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve had the run of the place, but there was still a boundary, don’t eat from the one tree! The lie was that in crossing that line they would find enlightenment, real freedom? Instead they felt the full impact of fear, guilt and shame for the first time, lost from that amazing garden, and the blame game started that has continued ever since! But Jesus invites us back in, revealing that He is the gate leading to those good pastures. Within the boundaries that come from a relationship with Him, paid for by His death on a cross, we find the security, peace and real freedom that we were made to enjoy! Lord, thank You for Your love and care, for laying down Your life for me. Help me to stay in the safety and protection of Your boundary lines, living in the light of Your truth that really does set me free! Amen 🙏🏼
