“They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Saviour—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!” Luke 2:9-11 NLT
The coming of Jesus to the world had been spoken of through the prophets hundreds of years before He arrived! It was certainly Good News that He was finally here, but the reality of the situation was that He was just a baby! It was yet another wait of thirty years before Jesus would start His public ministry, and a further three years before He would die to save us! Just because something hasn’t happened yet, or it doesn’t come packaged in the way you think it should, that is no reason to lose heart! Hear the words of those angels again this morning, ‘Don’t be afraid! This is news of great joy!’ Lord, thank You that You can always be trusted to keep Your promises, even if they feel slow in coming from my perspective! Help me to trust in Your perfect timing and to rest in You. Amen 🙏🏼😊
