“For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.” Colossians 1:13-14 NLT
January 6th is the feast of Epiphany. In the Christian calendar it’s when we remember the magi visiting Jesus, where He was revealed as King! The word epiphany has come to mean a moment of sudden and great revelation! Well this profound statement from Colossians tells us of two Kingdoms, that Jesus came to rescue us from a Kingdom where darkness rules, where we are held in captivity, to transfer us to a Kingdom where Jesus reigns, His rule not marked by oppression and fear but by freedom and forgiveness! Oh that more people would have an epiphany of Jesus as the King that He is, understanding what He went through to rescue us, and what it means to live under His Kingly rule! Lord, give me a fresh revelation today of You being King of my life and how I can live as a citizen and ambassador of Your Kingdom, bringing this message of salvation, the power of the gospel, to those I know who are still living in darkness. Amen 🙌🏼😊
