Christ’s representatives // 25-04-22

“God put the world square with himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins. God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing. We’re Christ’s representatives.” 2 Corinthians 5:18 MSG

To represent means: to show or describe something, or to be a sign or symbol of something; be entitled or appointed to act or speak for (someone), especially in an official capacity. To be a Christian, therefore, is to represent Christ, to show others what He is like, to speak and act with His authority. So how well am I representing Him? How clearly is my life conveying His message of love, forgiveness, repentance, reconciliation and transformation? I remember a slogan from the eighties that has always stuck with me that said, ‘If you were arrested for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?’ Lord, I know I don’t always represent you as well or as clearly as I could, but I so want to get better at it! Help me to represent You well this week in word and deed, to honour Your name in the choices I make, to be an example of Your grace and Your life transforming power! May I take every opportunity I get this week to speak of what You are doing, that I might be known as Yours, living in such a way as to make You known. Amen 🙌🏼😊
