“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT
The very last verse in the book of Judges says that in the days before Israel had a king the people did whatever seemed right in their own eyes. What we learn is how disastrous that really was, but it sounds a lot like today! Without Jesus as King, without trusting in the Lord with all your heart, the tendency is to just trust your heart as Lord, to go with whatever feels right for you, but that is not wise according to the Bible; that does not lead to making the best or the right decisions! Wisdom is seeking first the Kingdom of God and pursuing His righteousness, trusting in His plan, asking what He wants! Proverbs 14:12 tells us that there is a path before each person that seems right, but leads to death! Lord, save me from the road that takes me nowhere good, lead me in the way of life; help me not to rely on my own understanding, only seeing things from a human perspective, and doing what seems right in my eyes. I choose to trust in You as my King. Teach me Your will, show me Your way, and help me to courageously and obediently walk in it today. Amen 🙏🏼
