“God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.” Ephesians 6:13-18 MSG
The Bible is clear that we have a spiritual enemy, the father of lies, a deceiver and a destroyer! He hates God and he hates humanity. Even though Jesus defeated him on the cross and his demise is secured, he continues to rally against us in his death throes, and His first line of attack, that he used in the garden of Eden, and that he still uses so effectively today is, “Did God really say…?” If he can get us to doubt God’s Word, and to doubt God’s love, then he knows we will stop doing the two things which are most dangerous to him, wielding the Sword of the Spirit, (believing the Bible and applying it), and praying! If he can disarm us then we are no threat to him, and we become easy pickings to devour, at risk of falling behind and dropping out! That’s why God has given us armour to protect us right now: truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation. Rather than just looking at it and questioning it we need to wear it! And the same with God’s Word, we’ve been given it for a reason, so we need to believe it, trust it, learn how to use it, speak it out, and pray it, and pray for each other, pray about everything, pray in the Spirit, keep lines of communication open, so that we can be vigilant soldiers of Christ, obeying His every command and taking back ground that is rightfully His. It is vital that we do! Lord, may You find me strong on the battlefield today, alert to the lies of the evil one, full of faith, and advancing, sword in hand, Your Kingdom come, and Your will be done! Amen 🗡🛡📖❤️🔥
