The difference between being a Christian and not being a Christian is meant to be as stark as light is to darkness. When you call on the name of Jesus, when you trust in His work on the cross and His resurrection, when you come alive to God and you realise how loved you are, that you’ve been chosen for good works, when you say, ‘Count me in to Your plans God, count me in to this new life,’ everything changes, how can it not? Christianity without God’s transforming power at work in us, is no Christianity at all! The plan isn’t to conform us to a Christian stereotype though, He’s not in the business of changing us into creepy Stepford Christians, but into the very likeness of Jesus! Do you know what He has done? Do you know what He is like? Do you know that He said that those who believe in Him (trust in, cling to, and rely on Him) will do the same things He did and even greater things! Lord, I want to know You, I want to be more like You, I want my life to count for You, so change whatever You need to change, renew my mind, free my heart, that Your peace and mercy would be seen on me!
