A trustworthy anchor // 30-11-22

“So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.” Hebrews 6:17-19 NLT

Not much is certain in this life, we’ve learned that over the last couple of years haven’t we? But God’s promises are sure. When do you need an anchor? When there are treacherous currents below you and storms around you. The Word of God, the promise of God, anchors us, it steadies our mind, will, and emotions, it helps us keep our bearings on this adventure that we are on. It reminds us that when we utter those words, ‘Are we nearly there yet?” That God is holding us secure and guiding us safely to an amazing destination. He is not panicking, He knows how to get us where we need to go, we just need to put our trust in Him! Father God, thank You that I am not navigating this life on my own, that You are always with me and I have nothing to fear and everything to gain as I hold on to You. Amen ⚓️ (I’ve just noticed that an anchor is made up of a cross and a smile!) May that genuine smile of confidence be on our faces today as we look to the cross and run to Jesus for refuge 😊
