Roots that reach deep // 26-01-23

“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.” Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Someone shared this at group last night and it reminded me that circumstance should never be the greatest dictator of outcome, not when we can put our trust in the Lord! I’ve been telling people that this time of year is tough for me, I don’t like the cold, damp, dark weather and it impacts my mood in a negative way, but actually I have access to the Son, to His light 365 days of the year! He is my hope and confidence, regardless of the changeable seasons. Jesus, thank You for that reminder of Your awesome presence with me, help me to always look to You and to be like those trees planted along the riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water, unbothered, unworried, fruitful. Fill me with Your light and love today. Amen ☀️❤️
