“O Lord, hear me as I pray; pay attention to my groaning. Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for I pray to no one but you. Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.” Psalms 5:1-3 NLT
I love the rawness and honesty of David, his prayers not eloquent, well thought through, word perfect utterings, but instead very real groanings and and cries for help! He just tells God how he feels and what he needs without pretence, but because He knows Him as His King, because He understands who God is and what He is capable of, he then exercises trust, expecting Him to answer! Lord, thank You that as Your child, as a citizen of heaven, I too can come boldly and confidently before You. Thank You that You always hear my groaning and can make sense of it, thank You that You’re a God who cares, and who answers. Help me, like David, to be real and audacious in my prayers, and may you see in me real faith as I wait expectantly today. Amen 🙌🏼😊
