Though God is the source of all wisdom, and He is all powerful, He doesn’t want us to treat Him just as a search engine like Google, or as a cloud based voice service like Alexa that just does what we command, He actually desires real relationship with us! As I turn to Him and talk to Him, and keep those lines of communication open, then it connects me to the One who is the way, the truth and the life. And as I keep talking to Him, keep praying, it enables me to know Him better and better, and I am more likely to hear from Him and to receive what He so willingly wants to give: knowledge of His will, spiritual wisdom and understanding, fruitfulness, strength, joy, freedom – life abundant. He wants an ongoing, authentic, relationship with us, where we know His love, and love Him back – not just for what He gives us but for who He is, that’s where the real benefits come. That’s why Jesus encourages us to keep asking, seeking, and knocking, to not give up pursuing Him! Lord, help me to press into You today, even when answers don’t come easy, even when I don’t understand or see the bigger picture, may my faith in You grow anyway, trusting that You see it all, that You are what I need most in this world, and that as I draw closer to You I will receive everything I truly need.
