‘DEVOTE (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/devote) is likely to imply compelling motives and often attachment to an objective.’ Which causes me to consider, how compelling are my motives and my attachment to God that would lead me to be devoted to prayer? Do I believe He loves me and has the best for me? Do I believe He is good and wise? Do I believe He hears me and answers me? Do I believe Jesus is the Way, the Truth, the Life? These are compelling reasons to pray! Wanting to connect with, and get to know better, a God like that, understanding that He wants that same relationship with me, causes me to be thankful, and to be alert to His presence with me, and His leading of me. Father, save me from indifference, help me to believe in a way that attaches me to You and compels me to pursue You, devoted to You in prayer! Amen 🙌🏼😊
