According to the Collins dictionary: someone’s nature is their character, which they show by the way they behave. The Bible is clear that we all have an innate sinful nature – it’s worth remembering though that this isn’t my authentic self, who I am and always will be, but a corrupted version of myself when out of relationship with God. When we learn about Jesus and the truth that comes from Him, when we receive the forgiveness and freedom that was bought with His blood, when we get reconciled to our Creator, born again and filled with the Holy Spirit, then spiritual fruit begins to grow, and transformation takes place! Being a Christian is a process of becoming more and more Christlike, taking on His nature, the very character we were actually designed for, shown in a new way of living, the best me I could ever be, redeemed and restored, set apart for God’s glorious purposes in order to proclaim the Good News of His Kingdom. Lord Jesus, I so want to be more like You, truly righteous and holy. Fill me afresh and may the fruit of love, peace, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control be more and more evident in my life, as I put my trust in You. Amen 👆🏼🙌🏼❤️
