The hope of all the world // 04-12-23

β€œLook at my Servant, whom I have chosen. He is my Beloved, who pleases me. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations. He will not fight or shout or raise his voice in public. He will not crush the weakest reed or put out a flickering candle. Finally he will cause justice to be victorious. And his name will be the hope of all the world.” Matthew 12:18-21 NLT

This is a quote in the New Testament from the book of Isaiah in the Old Testament, Matthew showing that Jesus is the fulfillment of this prophecy! His death finally caused justice to be victorious as He paid the price for our sin, and His resurrection gives us hope for the life to come! In the same way that He has already fulfilled so many promises and prophecies of Scripture so He will come again and all that is still unjust in our world today will finally be dealt with! Jesus, in this time of advent, of waiting and preparing, help us to fix our eyes on Your name; the only name by which we must be saved; the only name that gives hope to the world as we look forward to all that You will do in the light of what You have already done.
