Why doubt? // 11-10-19

“But when he saw [the effects of] the wind, he was frightened, and he began to sink, and he cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus extended His hand and caught him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”” Matthew‬ ‭14:30-31 AMP‬‬

I wonder what doubts fill your mind when circumstances and fear distract you? The word doubt here is explained as, ‘allowing yourself to be drawn in two different directions.’ For Peter, it sounds like he started moving towards Jesus but then tried to turn back to the safety of the boat. No one can go in two different directions and expect to get anywhere meaningful! We need to commit to the walk, no turning back, all in, no matter how much we feel the wind against us the important thing is that we keep our eyes on Jesus, keep listening for His voice, keep going! That’s when faith really has a chance to grow 💪🏼🙏🏼
