The power to understand // 28-04-20

“And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.” Ephesians‬ ‭3:18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The word, ‘Power’ comes from the Latin word Potere – which means, to be able! I am so glad, and feel so blessed, that I am ‘able’ to understand, at least in some measure, the lengths that Jesus went to show God’s love for me, the depths of His suffering and the heights of His resurrection and ascension. Such love that I might be ‘able’ to know forgiveness, ‘able’ to enjoy a relationship with my Creator and Saviour, ‘able’ to live with a clear sense of identity and purpose. Now that’s powerful! Lord, may I also understand the power that I now have as Your child, the ability and authority to tell other people about You and to show them how much they are loved by You too! As I stir up this gift within me, give me opportunity to see Your superpower in action through my words and deeds. Amen!
