Pride says, ‘I don’t need God, I’m in control of my own destiny!’ But the truth is that we are actually in control of very little. The arrival of Covid has shown us just how fragile everything really is: the economy, our health, our freedom to do what we want when we want. So much of my thinking, my emotions, and my behaviour can be out of order too if I’m honest, as much as I try to control them. No wonder so many people are stressed and depressed! But maybe it wasn’t meant to be like that? Maybe, we weren’t meant to carry such worries and cares? Maybe God is able to carry that weight and give us the reassurance and help we need if only we would humble ourselves under His mighty power? Lord, thank You for being there for me. Thank You that You care for me. Help me to trust You today and as I look to You, thank You that You will lift me up. Amen 🙏🏼
