“You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.” Psalms 63:1 NIV
‘Earnestly’ means with sincere and intense conviction, seriously! When the heat of life feels unbearable it’s amazing the things we will do and the lengths we will go to try to quench our thirst, and so often it just adds to the problem. But what if we were to earnestly seek God? What if we recognised that our thirst is actually for Him? Jesus said, ‘Whoever drinks the water I give will never thirst!’ Lord, I need You! Show me how to sincerely seek You and to follow You with an intense conviction so that I can know You more. Refresh my soul with the water that only You can give and may it overflow through me to other people who are thirsty too. Amen 💧🙏🏼
