Someone reminded me recently of a quote from Evan Almighty, where Morgan Freeman says, “Let me ask you something. If someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient? If he prayed for courage, does God give him courage, or does he give him opportunities to be courageous?’ Now of course, presented with opportunities, we don’t have to take them, we can give up on faith and stop pursuing God’s purposes, and just stay in that place of disappointment and despair, but how tragic to miss out on what God has promised! Lord, may you always find me faithful and willing to let patience and courage do its work, lead me into all that You have prepared for me. Amen 🙌🏼😊
