Why is patient endurance so vital for our spiritual health? Those two words can make my heart sink because it sounds like so much effort and suggests a path of suffering and difficulty, when all I really want is some comfort! But truth is we are in a spiritual battle, and if we are going to pursue God’s will then the enemy will oppose us, his intent is to stop us preaching the Gospel and being the Gospel. He wants to shut us up and drag us down, to compromise our faith, discredit our witness and disqualify us from ministry! So yes, it takes a confident trust in God to stay faithful. It takes patient endurance to keep going in the right direction so that others can see and hear about Jesus, the reality of His Kingdom, and find the way home! Lord, if patient endurance is what I need, then help me to embrace it! May I know You as my comforter (my strength) and experience real
