The grace of God // 21-10-21

“Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.” Hebrews‬ ‭12:15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I heard a preacher once say that going through testing times can make you better or bitter! Bitterness comes when I stop trusting God and instead start blaming Him or others, and it is so destructive, not only to my own heart, robbing me of the joy of the Lord that I so desperately need, but it always infects others too, as they get drawn in to the negative talk that comes out when bitterness takes root. What we need is grace, grace to keep trusting God when I don’t understand, grace to keep looking after each other rather than turning on each other, grace to keep believing for the best, rather than fixating on the worst, grace to be thankful for what I do have rather than only seeing what I don’t have. Grace guards my heart, it grows me in faith, and It makes me better! May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us all, evermore. Amen 🙏🏼
