“For physical training is of some value (useful for a little), but godliness (spiritual training) is useful and of value in everything and in every way, for it holds promise for the present life and also for the life which is to come.” 1 Timothy 4:8 AMPC
This verse reminds us not to focus all our efforts on things that are temporary. It’s good to take care of our physical health for sure, but even better to be training for that which will also have an impact in eternity! Let’s get disciplined in the things that will help us grow closer to God; that will help us grow in wisdom and understanding; that will help us grow spiritual fruit; that will help us grow in spiritual maturity; that will help us grow stronger in faith; that will help us grow passionate for God’s Kingdom purpose; that will help us grow in our mission to make disciples; that will help us grow in love for Him and for other people! Let’s take seriously this spiritual training as we determine to G-Get praying, R-Read the Bible, O-Own our community, and W-Worship God! Lord, may my roots grow down into You as I train in godliness, so that You might grow me up and grow me stronger in You this year! Amen 🙏🏼😊
It’s the last part of my, ‘Seriously?’ Series this Sunday, as we look at how vital it is for us to worship God. Hope you can make it or catch us online. And do let me know how you are putting this into practice in your life and how much of a difference it is making? 😊
