Why would he do that? // 07-04-22

“…he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all.” Isaiah 53:4-6 NLT

The sacrifice of Jesus had been prophesied for centuries. The question is, why would God do any of that for us? Truth is, we have no idea how much God loves us, and this world He created! His plans for His creation are not finished yet, and we play a huge part in them, so in love He did what He had to do to save us, to provide a way for us to get back onto His path and into His will, our future with Him secure! Lord, thank You for saving me. Thank You that I’m here for a purpose and You have amazing plans for me in Your Kingdom, both now and in eternity! Jesus, I’m sorry that You had to go through the pain of crucifixion for my rebellion and my sin, but I am so grateful for the ‘Shalom,’ the peace, the wholeness you have given me in exchange. Help me to live in the light of it and appreciate the healed, restored relationship I now have with God! Show me Your way, lead me in it and use me for Your glory! Amen 🙌🏼❤️
