“Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.” Philippians 2:12-13 NLT
This isn’t about working for my salvation. Jesus has already done everything to save me, and I can’t add a single thing to His sacrifice. This is about living in the light of that salvation, if I am loved and valued as much as the cross shows me I am, if God has paid such a high price for me, then I need to discover what it is He has saved me for and in faith do it. ‘Work hard to show the results of your salvation.’ is explained in the amplified version, ‘…cultivate it, bring it to full effect, actively pursue spiritual maturity!’ Salvation isn’t just about where I go when I die, it’s about changing my life in this life, realising that God has set me apart for His purpose and it starts now! Lord, thank You for saving me, as I seek to know You better may Your saving power continue to do it’s work in me, changing my heart to beat more in tune with Yours. Lord renew my mind, that my words and actions would always honour You. Amen 🙌🏼😊
