Planted in the house // 16-06-22

“The [uncompromisingly] righteous shall flourish like the palm tree [be long-lived, stately, upright, useful, and fruitful]; they shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon [majestic, stable, durable, and incorruptible]. Planted in the house of the Lord, they shall flourish in the courts of our God.” Psalm‬ ‭92:12-13‬ ‭AMPC‬

In my waking up dream state this morning I saw a number of people who were once planted in church and flourishing in faith, but who for various reasons uprooted and left. Some for new adventure, some for escape, all believing that somewhere else was going to bring greater meaning and fulfilment to their lives. And yet, so many of them are now not planted anywhere when it comes to church, unfruitful spiritually speaking, off track when it comes to mission, and some have even lost the faith that they had! It’s a reminder to me that the grass is never greener on the other side, it’s greener where you water it. Sometimes staying planted in the house of the Lord where you are is the best thing you can do, however hard that might feel in the moment. Sometimes God will move you (transplant you) but He needs to be the instigator of that not us. I love the description of that Palm tree and Cedar tree, that’s what I want to grow into, long lived, upright, useful, fruitful, majestic, stable, durable, incorruptible! Lord, may my roots go deep as I stay planted in Your house, within Your will, worshipping at Your throne and growing in Your righteousness. Help me to stay watered by Your Word and flourishing in Your courts. Amen 🙌🏼😊🌴
