These verses follow straight on from yesterdays. When the peace that comes from Christ is ruling in my heart, (when I trust Him as my Saviour, when I live daily in relationship with Him as my King), it leads to a different way of life, one with a richness of message and meaning, having divine wisdom to live by and to counsel with, praises to be expressed, our hearts full of all that there is to be thankful for, and it changes our words and deeds, our lives filled with purpose as we live for Jesus! This isn’t describing a ‘Pollyanna’ existence where we are are all cheerfully optimistic, bursting into song every few minutes like in a musical. This is a tough, difficult, broken world, and we are in a spiritual battle, which is precisely why it is so vital that we guard our hearts, that we stay close to God and to each other, that we take the tools God has given us and put them into practice.
