“And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:6-7 NLT
We talk a lot about accepting Jesus as our Saviour, but here we’re reminded that to actually be a Christian is to accept Jesus as our Lord! Evidence of Him being Lord of my life is that I am following Him, seeking His truth and His will, obeying His commands, doing my best to go in the direction He says! Evidence of that happening is a life based on Jesus, faith that is growing stronger, and thankfulness that is being expressed! If thankfulness is a measure of Jesus being Lord of my life then I’m asking myself how thankful am I? Jesus, forgive me for the times I have tried to be ruler of my life, and the peace I have lost as a result. Help me to put You first, to accept You and know You as my Saviour and Lord, trusting in Your perfect will for my life. Fill me with Your perfect peace and may my life overflow with thankfulness as a result. Amen 💔❤️❤️🔥
