“In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.” 1 Peter 1:6 NIV
The previous few verses outline what it is we have to greatly rejoice in: that we have a Father who is worth praising, for His great mercy, for new birth and a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus, that leads us to an amazing inheritance, kept for us, until the fullness of salvation is finally revealed. So much to rejoice in, to focus on, to live for, often despite the grief that living in this fallen world causes us! Where we are is not the end of the story, God is working His purposes out, and we get to be involved in His plans, with an awesome future to come! Lord, I choose to greatly rejoice in You, to find my strength in You, to put all my hope and trust in You. Fill me with Your joy I pray. Amen
