“Then he said to me, “Speak a prophetic message to these bones and say, ‘Dry bones, listen to the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Look! I am going to put breath into you and make you live again!” Ezekiel 37:4-5 NLT
This prophetic vision given to Ezekiel, of a valley of dry bones, was about the people of Israel, who were in exile, being revitalised and brought back to the land of Israel. This picture always infuses hope into me that what looks dry and dead, God can bring back to life, that His Word can revive us too, no matter how desolate the situation. For anyone feeling that they are stuck in a valley, dried out by the heat, going nowhere spiritually, this is for you, meditate on each key word and speak this out loud, “Dry bones, listen to the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Look! I am going to put breath into you and make you live again!” Read it again!!
Come on, let’s get ready and expectant to be revived. I can definitely hear a rattling right now, dry bones are coming to life and coming together, can you hear it too? Lord, thank You for the power of your word, that You haven’t finished with us yet, would You breathe life and strength into our bones today to get us out of the valleys we have been lying in for far too long.
