But a breath // 17-08-22

“You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you. Everyone is but a breath, even those who seem secure.” Psalms‬ ‭39:5‬ ‭NIV

This is just a reminder that life is very short. Even those who live into their 90’s, like my lovely uncle who passed away yesterday, are not old by creation’s standard. Compared to eternity a few years here is but a breath, so let’s not live consumed by the here and now. It’s not about how much we can acquire and accomplish in this life, but how much we are invested in the life to come that really matters! That’s the hope we have as Christians, an inheritance, through Jesus, that will last forever! Lord, help me to live this life to the full, in the light of the resurrection to come, not stressed, anxious and fearful, trying to control my destiny here, but secure and alive in Your love and Your provision, pursuing Your will, storing up treasure in heaven, in the certain hope that the best is yet to come. Amen 🙌🏼❤️‍🔥
