“Get up, let us go from here.” John 14:31 AMP
These last few words at the end of John 14 struck me as I was reading them again yesterday! There are two ways I read this sentence, the first is a reminder that where I am now is not my final destination, the ‘here’ of this moment in my life, this circumstance I am in, is not where I am going to stay, it will pass, so get up! I also read it as ‘here’ being a great launching pad! Your ‘here’ may feel like a disadvantage, a set back, a disqualification, but where you are and what you’re going through God can use for good as you get up and move with Him! Both ways of reading this sentence can instil hope and a determination to go with Jesus! I love that He says, ‘Let US go from here,’ Jesus IS with you right now giving you the strength and courage you need. So if He says get up, it means you can get up! It’s time to move from the ‘here’ of where you have felt stuck and believe that there is a ‘there’ that He is taking you to! Lord, thank You for your faith in me and your faithfulness to me. Help me to trust You, and to more and more see things Your way. Amen, let’s go! 🙌🏼😊
