“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 NIV
If?’ There’s a choice here, and no guarantee that God’s people will heed this warning and answer this call! The way the world is right now suggests that we’re not there yet! We all have a tendency to pride, to thinking we know best, that the way we see things is the right way despite God’s Word; to living our lives and making decisions without consulting Him first. Will we humble ourselves? Humbling ourselves here is spelled out as praying, seeking His face, turning from our wicked ways not justifying them. And if we do, God promises His attention, He promises the cleansing power and experience of forgiveness, He promises healing of our land! How desperate are we, am I, to see our fractured, hurting, stressed out land healed? Lord, I’m starting right now by turning to You, praying for Your perspective, for Your will and Your way to be my direction of travel, making no assumption that how I think and feel is the best way. I’m seeking Your face Jesus, I want to know You for who You are, not just looking to Your hand for what You can do for me! Make me more like You, and as I humble myself may I walk in the power and freedom that comes from knowing Your forgiving and healing power. Use me as a force for good here on the earth. Your Kingdom come! Amen 🙌🏼❤️
