“Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.” Ephesians 4:29 NLT
It is so easy to speak without thinking, my speech just vocalising every frustration, hurt, irritation, or any other negative emotion that assaults my mind. But it’s worth remembering that words have creative power to build up or to tear down, and once spoken they can’t be taken back. What do I want my words to achieve today? We don’t have to say everything that passes through our minds, sometimes it is wiser to keep our mouths closed. So here’s a regulation I was taught when it comes to putting my thoughts into words, THINK, is what I am about to say:
True
Helpful
Inspiring
Necessary
Kind
Lord, help me to control my tongue and guard my lips today, so that everything that passes through them would be good, helpful, and an encouragement to those who hear them. May my words be constructive and not destructive, a blessing and not a curse. I want to be like You Jesus! Amen 🙌🏼❤️
