When we confess to God, forgiveness follows, but when we confess to each other healing follows! I’ve seen the power of fear, guilt and shame broken as people come out of hiding and share with someone they trust. I’ve known myself the power of encountering mercy and grace when all you expect is judgment and rejection! Only God can forgive sin, but in community healing comes too. And it’s not saying that we all keep telling each other how bad we think we are all the time; it’s understanding that we all fall short, and that things that are hidden are destructive to us, and can make us feel isolated, but that being accountable to each other in an environment of compassion is healing and freeing to us as humans, as we then pray for each other and take care of each other. Lord, thank You for the community of faith where I can find forgiveness and freedom as I grow in relationship with You and with others. Help me to be that safe place for others to find healing today.
