How is it even possible these days to focus on one thing? Our minds are bombarded constantly with information from the news, from social media, from our own circle of people we know, with persistent demands on our time and our senses to hear and to see and to respond. No wonder our society is so stressed and depressed! St Paul suggests here though that it is possible to refocus, that the one thing of greatest importance, and of infinite value is to know Jesus as Lord. If we would just make seeking His Kingdom our goal and prioritise His way of doing things, focusing our time on Him, then I am sure that so much of the other stuff that distracts and overwhelms us would fall away. Lord, help me this week to focus on this one thing, to fix my eyes on You, to hear Your calling above all the other demands and to press on in pursuit of Your will. Amen 👆🏼🙏🏼
