I’ve often heard people say you don’t have to go to church to be a Christian, which on one level is true, but it is so difficult to be an authentic follower of Jesus, on mission with Him, without the encouragement and building up that comes from being connected to His family of faith! We need regular reminding of what Jesus has done for us, of God’s plan for salvation, of our God given purpose for living. Fellowship is so vital to our spiritual health. We desperately need those places and times where we can get encouragement and be the encouragement! ‘Encourage each other and build each other up.’ Truth is we need each other! Lord, save me from drifting or falling away, help me to stay connected in, built up and strong in my love for You, made courageous by the company I keep, and the regular reminders that You died for me.
