If I can? // 14-12-23

“Have mercy on us and help us, if you can.” “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” Mark‬ ‭9‬:‭22‬-‭23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This was Jesus’ reply to a man desperate for him to save his son, to free him, and to change what looked like an impossible condition and situation! It made me think about things I consider are impossible to change and how that often affects the way I pray. I can hear Jesus saying the same thing to me, ‘What do you mean, if I can? Anything is possible for the person who believes!’ See how Jesus calls us to work with Him, to trust in Him, to rely on Him, to listen to Him, to follow Him – the essence of believing, and it’s as we do that we see the impossible change! Lord, in the same words of that man you answered and helped that day, ‘I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!’ It’s not that I don’t believe that You can, the struggle is often to believe that You will, but in the light of Your words today help me to dream and plan and prepare accordingly, trusting that You are able and willing to provide exactly what I need. Amen 👆🏼🙏🏼😊
