It’s exactly a week til Christmas Day, and this week we hit the shortest day of the year in the UK, certainly the longest period of darkness in 24 hours. Lack of light can cause all sorts of issues. We need light for our physical and mental health, but also for our spiritual health too! This verse reminds us that the true light we really need is the light of Christ! I love that at this time of greatest darkness we get to remember and celebrate the arrival of the greatest light this world has ever seen! In the words of an old song this is my prayer this week, ‘Shine, Jesus, shine, fill this land with the Father’s glory. Blaze, Spirit, blaze, set our hearts on fire! Flow, river, flow, flood the nations with grace and mercy. Send forth your Word, Lord and let there be light!’ Amen 👆🏼🕯️💡🔥☀️
