When you make a call, you are dialling in to someone specific hoping to make the connection! This verse isn’t talking about calling out to some unknown deity but to the God who has made Himself known through the person of Jesus Christ. It’s as we dial His number, actually call on His name that we make that connection with God. In this moment we have direct access to Him and we can make that call confident that He will answer, no automated response, no straight to voicemail, no ignoring or rejecting that call. As we call on the name of the Lord we will be saved, we will be connected, we will get access to His wisdom and resources and leading, how amazing is that? Thank You Lord, for answering and saving me when I called on Your name! Forgive me for the times when I hold your name in my contact list and don’t call when You are actually right there waiting.
