“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].“ 2 Timothy 1:7 AMP
I don’t know who this verse is for today but it jumped out at me as I was reading this chapter so I’m sending it out? It’s in the context of Paul seeing the strong faith that Timothy has in God and encouraging him to fan into flame the spiritual gift God gave him! This is about recognising the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives as we trust in God, giving attention to our relationship with Him, so that His wisdom, power and love are ignited in us, and His fruit start to grow and be seen in our lives! Lord, in the chaos and confusion of this world, and when I’m overwhelmed by my inabilities, I for one need your super abilities that result in a calm, well balanced mind, and self control. Help me to recognise my fears and insecurities and my tendency to be driven by them, and instead to be fired up and propelled by Your Spirit, strong in faith, confident in Your love and trusting that You can and will lead me, provide for me, and get me where You need me to be, and to rest in that understanding! Now that’s courageous living 🔥❤️🙏🏼
