Remembrance // 01-11-22

“And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.’” Luke‬ ‭22‬:‭19‬ ‭NIVUK‬‬

It’s the 1st of November, a month where we traditionally remember! Coming up we have bonfire night, ‘Remember remember the 5th of November, gunpowder, treason and plot!’ But more importantly we have Remembrance Day on the 11th, and Remembrance Sunday, this year on the 13th, as we remind ourselves of the horrors of war, thankful for those who sacrificed their lives to bring us peace! If we don’t remember then we soon forget, we take what we have for granted, and we repeat the mistakes of the past! Jesus made it clear that we need to regularly remember what He has done for us, of His body broken to bring us peace with God! Lord, remind me of Your ultimate sacrifice, of Your amazing love. Help me to recall and to appreciate once again Your death, and resurrection, that I might live thankful, safe from repeating the same mistakes. I choose to remember today, and to live in the light of all You have done. Amen 🍞🍷❤️
