Refuge and strength // 02-11-22

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah” Psalms‬ ‭46‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

We’ve been highlighting verse 1 of this Psalm for a number of weeks in church. But knowing some of the tough situations people are facing this week with health, family, work etc, it’s worth repeating them again! Selah, pausing and remembering the truth and the promise of these words and running to God in response, our first port of call. Circumstances may conspire around us, weapons may form against us, uncertainty might be our present reality, but God is still with us, He can hold us, He can steer us, strengthen us and work things out for good as we trust in Him! In the words of a song I wrote many years ago:
‘I’m pressing on past my feelings, through the storm of my emotions, You alone are my hiding place. Leaning on You my Saviour, holding on through the fire, You are strong, great and mighty to save! So I will stand my ground, for You are with me. Know the hope I’ve found will never leave me. You are all I need as I surrender, and fix my eyes on You, Jesus!’ Thank You Lord that You ARE my refuge and strength. A very present help. Amen 🙌🏼❤️
