“Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant on the lookout for choice pearls. When he discovered a pearl of great value, he sold everything he owned and bought it!” Matthew 13:45-46 NLT
Jesus is saying here that the kingdom of heaven is worth the cost of everything we have in this life, it is that precious! Pearls do not just appear overnight, they can take years to develop, they are rare gems, the highest quality pearls having a sharp, mirror-like reflection, they represent purity! I mention pearls because 30 years ago today on Sunday 3rd of January 1993, our church held its first service! 30th anniversaries are often marked as pearl! It takes patience to reach this milestone, and is a reminder to me of how precious it is to be part of God’s Kingdom plans here on the earth, of the value of investing in His community of faith, reflecting His character and His love to the world that is so desperately in need of His Kingdom come! Lord, thank You for 30 years of knowing Your faithfulness, of being part of a Kingdom work of Yours that has brought hope and life to so many. Help me to be like that merchant in the parable who was willing to sell all He had in order to obtain that choice pearl! Thank You for the meaning and purpose and life change You have brought to my life through 30 years of serving You at Kingfisher Church. Amen ❤️
