“Therefore if you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, sharing in His resurrection from the dead], keep seeking the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value]. For you died [to this world], and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God.” Colossians 3:1-3 AMP
I’ve been thinking recently about the word, ‘mindsets,’ those fixed beliefs, fixed attitudes, fixed ways of thinking that we assume are unchangeable and immovable! Like concrete that sets hard, our hearts can become hardened and change can seem impossible! But God is in the business of transforming us by changing the way we think, by renewing our minds and softening our hearts. It’s then that we can discover His good, pleasing and perfect will for our lives (Romans 12:2). For those of us who have been raised with Christ, it’s time to demolish those mindsets that are keeping us from God’s best, it’s time to think differently, to challenge any hardness of heart that is keeping us from pursuing Jesus, time to have a new mind that is set on the things of heaven rather than being fixated and stuck on the things of earth! Lord, I want to know that new, real life that comes out of relationship with You. Give me Your thoughts, and may my heart beat with Yours as I hide myself in You, as I look to You, as my mind is set on You today. Amen 🙌🏼❤️
